I got into marketing by complete fluke, as I happened to land a job in a junior capacity at an advertising agency after completing college and loved it from day one. Captivated by the creativity and the prestigious brands that the agency was servicing, I was determined to become an integral part of the team and contribute to the success that I was surrounded by. This drove me to study the field part-time whilst working full-time over the years when I had the spare time and capital, as I am self-funded. This experience not only deepened my understanding of the industry but also fuelled my passion for creative problem-solving. As I gained more skills and knowledge, I began to take on larger projects, which ultimately led to exciting opportunities and greater responsibilities.

I studied various modules of marketing communications whenever possible and this gave me the understanding and knowledge needed to forge a career in marketing, and from my first position as a media buyer, I progressed to planning and strategy roles in the media department. My next big move was to a media owner space and spent considerable time in broadcasting, having worked for various radio and television networks. My studies, training and experience encompassed traditional media until I decided to take time off in 2019 to study and practice another passion of mine, yoga. During this period of introspection, I discovered the importance of mindfulness and its application in both personal and professional spheres. This newfound perspective not only enhanced my creativity but also allowed me to approach marketing challenges with a fresh, holistic mindset.

The pandemic struck, and the world shut down and during that time, the only way I could practice yoga was online and I progressed in my studies to earn a teacher qualification. I yearned to work and miraculously was awarded an employment contract in digital media. With this new role, I felt the need to upskill and decided to head back to university to gain digital marketing and web copywriting qualifications.

This reignited my love for advertising, brands, marketing and media. Having spent the bulk of my career in the traditional media terrain, I could not foresee that I would acquire a skill set that is in demand today and deems my knowledge evergreen. This journey not only enhanced my professional capabilities but also opened doors to new opportunities that I had never considered before. Embracing the digital landscape allowed me to connect with a vibrant community of innovators and creatives, fostering a sense of belonging that invigorated my passion for the industry.

Delving deeply into the baby of all mediums, online, I realise how fast the pace of change is and that there is a multitude to innovate and pioneer, which is both exciting and intellectually challenging. The possibilities seem endless, and with each new project, I find myself inspired to push boundaries even further. This journey not only enhances my business acumen but also encourages collaboration with like-minded individuals who share a vision for a brighter, more connected future. This path also requires constant learning hence I have embarked on more self-development and the product of that is that today I earned my first six Google license certifications. I have advanced and am in the process of completing my seventh accreditation.

These achievements have further solidified my commitment to personal growth and innovation. I am eager to apply this knowledge in real-world scenarios, contributing to projects that make a meaningful impact. I am fortunate to consult with amazing brands and put my learning into practice on a daily basis. I am thankful for my constant evolution, as I am relieved that stagnation and automation are far from my reality and that is liberating.
